What is the Availability of a Berth ?
At the time of a rental enquiry we will provide to you advice regarding current availability of a certain berth size, however a rental enquiry will not be confirmed until receipt of a security bond payment and/or the first month’s rental payment.
What is the Berth/Slip Length ?
In New Zealand we are required by our insurance companies to house all vessels in berths that are equal or greater to the overall length of the vessel using that berth. Therefore it is important for you to be sure of the total overall length of your vessel. The overall length must include all extremities including davits, anchors, bow-spits, and barbeques.
Can I cancel a rental booking ?
If you need to cancel your Rental Booking before arrival the following cancellation policy exists: more than 30 days no loss of payment, less than 30 days but more than 7 days loss of 50% of a full months rent. Less than 7 days loss of 30 days rent. In all cases a full refund will be available if we are able to occupy the berth with another Rental Booking.
What is the contract period ?
At the time of a rental booking you can choose to contract in for a set period, or to choose an ongoing rental arrangement. If you choose an ongoing rental agreement you are required to provide 30 days written notice at any time prior to departure from the berth. The ongoing rental option allows you to be sure that we do not book out the berth at the end of your intended period if you then decide to extend your stay.
Is there Electrical Connections ?
New Zealand law requires users of power from a facility such as a Marina to have an Electrical Warrant of Fitness. This certification can be gained from a registered Electrical Inspector. The certification is valid for four years and allows you to migrate from Marina to Marina without a need for re-inspection. We can recommend an inspector at the time of arrival.
Do you provide Insurance?
All vessels at Bayswater Marina are required to have insurance cover on the vessel with a minimum of NZ$1 million in third party cover. You will be asked to provide a copy of this insurance at the time of your arrival.
Are there any Additional Levies?
We charge an additional levy for live aboards and commercial operators within the Marina. The levy is calculated at 25% of the published daily rental of the berth. This levy runs in parallel with the rental payments and is payable at the same time. Applications for both live aboards and commercial operators need to be completed prior to arrival.
When do I Pay?
Rental payments are due on the first business day of the month for that month. For New Zealand residents we require a direct debit authority, and for non residents we require an ongoing authority to debit the monthly rental amounts from a credit card.
How do you calculate the Rental Rate ?
At Bayswater Marina the rental rate is calculated on a daily basis. This allows fair charging if you arrive or depart in the middle of a calendar month.
Security Access Cards:
At the time of arrival at the Marina each person on board the vessel will require a Security Card. This card will gain them access to the pier gates, showers, laundry, and the car park. We require a bond payment of $25 for each card, of which $20 is returned to you if and when you return the card to us in good working condition.
Security Bond Payment:
A Bond payment is required to confirm your booking as well as remain with us for the duration of your stay. The Security Bond value is calculated at 30 days of the published rental rate for your berth size. The Security Bond is returned to you on the day of departure.
Booking Fee:
A $25.00 Booking Fee is payable at the time of initial rental booking. This fee is not refundable.
